To lower water temperature use point-of-usetemperature limiting devices. It isrecommended that lower water temperaturesbe used where these exposure hazards exist.Such households may require a temperaturesetting less than 120 F to prevent accidentalcontact with hot water. The slower reaction time of children, elderly,and physically or mentally challenged personsincreases the scalding hazard to them. Temperatures atwhich injury occurs vary with the persons ageand the length of exposure. WARNINGHotter water increases the risk of scald injury.Before adjusting the water temperature setting,read this instruction manual. Follow theinstructions supplied with the mixing valve toobtain a mixed water temperature of 120F.Measure water temperature at the tap nearest to the water heater. A thermostatic mixing valve is supplied and mustbe installed to the water heater. In the absence of local codes, refer to NFPA 54and/or CSA B149.1 and/or NFPA 70.ĬAUTIONThe recommended water temperature fornormal residential use is 120F/49C.
